  14.         DESCRIPTION
  15.              _✓B_✓a_✓s_✓e_✓n_✓a_✓m_✓e deletes any prefix ending in  `/'.   If  _✓s_✓u_✓f_✓f_✓i_✓x  is
  16.              given  and  _✓p_✓a_✓t_✓h ends with it, then that is removed as well.
  17.              The result is printed on the standard output.
  18.              Example:
  19.              basename /usr/local/man/sort.l  .l
  20.              will produce the result _✓s_✓o_✓r_✓t on the standard output.
